Ski Areas of New York, Inc. is a trade organization that serves its members by acting as a facilitator, negotiator, educator, marketer, business analyst, legal advisor, information collector and distributor and sometimes even a referee. Many of the responsibilities that we have undertaken are simply just expected and some of the time, our members are unaware of the full scope of our operations. This is all by design. By operating as a support organization for the industry, our products and programs help to foster new and continued business for our members. By continually staying abreast of the latest technology and opportunities for our industry, we hope to grow the sport for generations to come.

The Service Station and Repair Shop Operators of Upstate New York Inc. (SSRSOUNY) is a non-profit trade association incorporated under New York State law in 1972. The Association was formed to bring about better business conditions for the petroleum retailer and to develop a diversified package of significant dealer-member benefits. Realizing that the interest of both repair shops and gasoline service stations are intertwined, the Association eventually took repair shop owners in as members as well.

The Cortland County Chamber of Commerce was formed on November 12, 1903 as the Cortland Board of Trade. The Board of Trade changed its name to the Chamber of Commerce in 1911, and its articles of incorporation were approved in 1945. In 1966, the Cortland Chamber was one of only three New York State chambers to receive accreditation by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Today, the three-person Chamber staff, a 16-member board of directors and many volunteers serve nearly 450 members in and around Cortland County. The Chamber is a member of the Business Council of New York State, Unshackle New York, and a number of other business organizations working to restore New York’s reputation as the Empire State. An independent, non-partisan organization with 501c(6) not-for-profit status, the Chamber operates on funds derived from membership investments and special projects.
Locally, the Chamber partners with the county, city, local towns and villages, and a host of other organizations working to help businesses prosper and at the same time keep Cortland vibrant and vital.
The popular Downtown Cortland Main Street Music Series, the Cortland Downtown Partnership, the Cortland Public Education Foundation, and the Cortland Regional Sports Council were all founded on the strength of the Chamber’s involvement. Likewise, a countywide spring cleanup, gateway signage improvement projects, and community events like Chill-a-bration and the recent Bicentennial Parade were all made possible because of the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to community.
